Alterium Shift developed by Dratzzy Games
Story

Alterium Shift is set in the fantasy world of Alteria. When starting the game I was given the choice to play as one of three characters, Pyra, Atlas, or Sage. The story is intertwined and depending on the character you choose, a different storyline will be uncovered. The story is also choice driven, giving the player multiple dialogue options and different decisions when progressing. The choices you make in the game will greatly affect not only your path but the path of the other characters as well. The dialogue choices and interactions with the other characters were really fun and unique, which not only made the experience more enjoyable but added to the replayability of the game. There are many secrets to be uncovered in the world of Alteria and I’m really interested in discovering them all.
Gameplay/Combat

Alterium Shift has a fully featured turn based combat system. When engaged in combat the player is given five choices. Attack which does damage based on stats and weapon choice. Skill which allows the player to do a different kind of attack using AE or Alterium Essence. One of my favorite parts of the demo was unlocking new skills and learning more about the AE magic system. The player can choose to guard if you foresee a powerful attack coming. There is also the option to use items such as potions to restore your health. Lastly there is the option to escape a combat encounter. While engaged in combat the player has access to a turn order display, which helps to form a strategy. Especially when some enemies use their ability to disrupt the turn order. Overall, the combat is really fun and puts the player in some intense and strategic battles.
Sound

Battle Music! I loved the music in this game, especially the music that plays during combat and boss encounters. This game has an awesome soundtrack and switches from blood-pumping battle tracks to the more whimsical and calm music when exploring. It’s not just the music but the sounds of the different attacks, and the crackling of the fireplace when you go indoors, that show that Drattzy Games pays attention to the details. All the sounds in the game really add to the atmosphere of the game.
Features

As I spoke about before, the biggest feature that jumped out to me are the branching paths in the story that really make the world feel alive. NPCs react to you differently depending on the character you are or the different options that you choose. Another feature I really enjoyed in the game is fishing. The fishing mechanic in the game is really fun and depending on the fishing spot and the kind of bait you use, you can even catch rare fish. There are also side quests in the game like returning someone’s lost kitten or helping a farmer wrangle all of her chickens. The different features in the game really bring the world of Alteria to life.
Impressions
I really can’t wait to get more of Alterium Shift. I want to know more about the lore of the dark elves and unlock more powerful AE Skills. I’m invested in the three characters and want to see how they grow during the story. The effort and care of Dratzzy Games is on full display during the demo, and I highly recommend you all to give it a try. For more information and to download the demo click the link below
